Partnership with Southport College

It’s been over 30 years since we took on our very first engineer back in 1992, now fast forward to 2024 and 23 apprentices later, investing in our young workforce is something we continue to be passionate about and everyone here plays an important part in mentoring our apprentices to be the best they can be. Not only do they become highly qualified tradesmen but they also learn valuable life skills from our Senior Engineers to ensure they are highly experienced, employable, Gas Safe engineers in their own right. Many of our apprentices go on to become our full-time engineers!

We work closely with Southport College and take part annually in the college’s Apprenticeship Fair, which is part of the National Apprenticeship Week. Here we get to meet and chat with students who have an interest in becoming the future of the heating industry.  Southport College is one of the largest providers of education and training in the Plumbing & Heating industry in the region.  Allan Sheldon, our liaison officer explains, “We have a long standing, very positive relationship with Tower Heating. They provide excellent on the job training, enabling them to work alongside their experienced engineers to develop their skills naturally and to their best potential and we are proud to work with such a prestigious company.”

Supporting the Rainbow Hub Charity

Supporting the Rainbow Hub Charity

Rainbow Hub first reached out to Tower in January 2023 to help where we could with fundraising.  Families are at the heart of this incredible charity, based in Mawdsley.  Rainbow Hub provides support for children and young people with physical disabilities as a result of neurological conditions or brain injury.

The team took part in a 5 mile walk around Croston with our families which raised thousands for the charity.  Laura also travelled up to Newcastle and joined the Great North Run Rainbow Team and helped raise over £13,500 for the charity, completing the half marathon.
